Obituary for Shelly M. Long

Shelly Long, 49, of Fostoria passed away on Monday February 26, 2018 at Fostoria Hospital. She was born November 17, 1968 in Findlay to the late Clayton Pitts and Diana (Harden) Aldrich and resided in Fostoria for her entire life.
Shelly was the kind of person who never met a stranger, and was loved by all who encountered her. She had a sharp wit and fiery personality that served to make her that much more lovable.
Shelly is survived by her beloved husband and best friend, Claude Long; her children, Samantha (Berry) Miller, Carmen (Andrew) Fox, and Matthew Long, and her step-daughter, Claudia Long; her four cherished grandchildren, Kaitlyn, Julian, Ameliah, and Mya; her brother Clayton “Buddy” Pitts and sister Jenni (Jude) Dube; and a dear friend Linda (Rich) Sprow; as well as a host of aunts, uncles, nieces, and nephews.
Shelly was a bright and vibrant person and was dearly loved by all who knew her. She loved being surrounded by family and friends and was always looking for an excuse to gather. She enjoyed reading and watching her favorite television shows with her husband. Shelly was a fantastic cook and loved to share her creations with others. She was a lifetime fan of the Fostoria Redmen and especially loved cheering on her son in the marching band.
People like Shelly only come around once in a lifetime, and she will be greatly missed by all who have had the pleasure of knowing her. It gives us peace only in knowing that Shelly has been reunited with her parents and grandparents who she has dearly missed, and that she is free from pain.
Services will be held at Mann-Hare-Hoening Funeral Home in Fostoria on Saturday March 3rd. Visitation will take place from 11am-2pm with the funeral immediately following.
