Rachel Marie Pullom

Obituary

Rachel Marie “Tiny” Pullom, 72, of Fostoria, passed away Tuesday morning, June 27, 2017 at Blanchard Valley Hospital, in Findlay.

She was born June 14, 1945 in Blackfork, Ohio to Dottie Keels and Sherman Dudley.  She married Donald Ray Pullom in Fostoria on November 28, 1964, and he precedes her in death.

Rachel was a member of the Union Baptist Church, Blackfork, Ohio and attended the Fostoria Church of God. She had worked for General Electric for 18 years, ExCello, Airfoil Textron, for four years, and then retired from Cooper Tire in 2007 after 15 years of service.  Rachel was a breast cancer survivor of 16 years which made her love life even more. She enjoyed dancing and shopping, and loved her flower garden.  She found the most joy, however, from talking to her grandchildren every night, doing word search puzzles and Facebook.  Rachel was loved by all who knew her, and even some that didn’t.  She was always full of life.

She is survived by two daughters, Kim Pullom, of Fostoria, and Natalie (Jon) Hill, of Houston, TX; four grandchildren, Ceara Lee (Derek) Miser, of Columbus, Ohio, Dylon Pavlovic, of Louisville, Kentucky, Rachel Pavlovic, of Houston, Texas, and Joshua Hill, of Houston, Texas; two great grandchildren, Noel Miser and Xavier Hill; two step-daughters, Erica Woods, of Arizona and Monica Washington, of Fostoria; sisters, Tona (Richard) Simpson, of Columbus, Ohio and Frances Owens, of Columbus, Ohio, Margaret Peppers, of Cleveland, Ohio, Alice Lathem, of Fostoria,  and Ruby Biles, of Fostoria; brothers, Robert Owens, of Columbus, Ohio, Charles Keels, Gene Keels, Bill Keels, and Cash Keels, all of Fostoria; and half sisters, Saundra Elizabeth Dudley, of Columbus, Ohio & Viola Dudley Wilborn, of Pocahontas, Virginia; brothers-in- law, John (Lizzy) Pullom and Michael (Patrica) Pullom; sisters- in-law, Marva (Rev. Henry) Goodwin and Maxine Pullom; good friends Becky Johnson and Tina De La Rosa, and a host of nephews, nieces and friends.

She was also preceded in death by siblings, Butch Owens, Rod & John Keels, Emma Dudley Brown, Leon Tobias Yancey, and Algonia Yancey Goodson.

Visitation will be held from 11 am until the time of the service at 1 pm on Monday, July 3, 2017 at MANN-HARE-HOENING Funeral Home, 407 N. Countyline St, Fostoria, with Rev. Donald Goodwin officiating. Burial will follow in Fountain Cemetery, Fostoria.

Kind, Loving, Fighter, Sweet and Caring are only a few of the words that come to mind when I think of aunt Tiny. Nothing like seeing aunt Tiny and she would as how I was doing with a huge grin on her face that made you fell warm inside and only reciprocate with a smile back. Every Christmas!!!!! She would show up to my grandmas. You never knew who was coming with her. Rather it be Ceara, Kim, Nat, Rachel or Dylon, but I had more confidence that aunt Tiny would stop my grandmas then I had in Santa bringing presents. My heart is heavy that I cant be there and I encourage you to call, text or E-mail me. Heck come out to California and visit if you need it. Havens Dawg Pound just got anther super fan. to the family of rachel,
I am very sorry for your loss. In these times it can be very difficult to find comfort and positivity. There is a way to find comfort and that is by praying to our creator for the comfort and reading the bible of his promises to us that soon he will fulfill. At 2 Corinthians 1:3,4 states praised be the God and Father of our Lord Jesus Christ, the Father of tender mercies and the God of all comfort, 4 who comforts us in all our trials so that we may be able to comfort others in any sort of trial with the comfort that we receive from God. and soon he will fulfill the promise at Revelation 21:4 which states 4 And he will wipe out every tear from their eyes, and death will be no more, neither will mourning nor outcry nor pain be anymore. The former things have passed away.

I hadn't seen Tiny for many many years but I always considered her one of my good friends. I knew her and Don when I lived in Fostoria and we were all good friends. There was just something about her that made you feel good to be around her. I am happy that she was a good Christian and is in a better place now. Even though it's been many years I feel a deep sadness knowing she is no longer with us. I pray for the family that they can be sustained by the beautiful memories they created with her. You were blessed to have her so many years even though it seems like it's never enough.

I worked for several years with Rachel at TJ Maxx. She was a wonderful lady, and to this day I tell people about the funny, fiery, generous, full-of-life cancer survivor with the best hair I ever saw when I talk about my time there. I know she touched the lives of everyone there, and she will be deeply missed. My thoughts and prayers are with her family and friends.
