Obituary for Melvin L. Riebesehl Sr.

Melvin L. Riebesehl Sr, 90, of Bryan, Ohio, passed away peacefully on Friday, November 30, 2018. He was born on December 14, 1927 to Edward and Pearl (Spurgeon) Riebesehl of Blissfield, MI. he married Virginia Elsea on January 10, 1948, who preceded him in death on October 30, 1989.
Melvin proudly served his country in the United States Army as a part of the Army Air Corps during World War II. After his honorable discharge he worked as a mechanic at Campbell Soup Supply Company for 20 years, retiring in 1990. Melvin loved to golf, bowl, hunt and fish. He was very talented and succeeded in almost everything he did. He enjoyed collecting diecast cars and even had an entire room in his home dedicated to it. He also collected various types of bowling balls so he could adjust to any situation during a frame.
Melvin is survived by his children, Kevin (Deb) Riebesehl, of Styker, OH, Patsy (Pat) Ducat, of Napoleon, OH, Lynette (Steve) Noykos, of Rural Stryker, OH, and Melvin L. Riebesehl Jr, of Napoleon, OH. He is also survived by eight grandchildren and numerous great-grandchildren.
He is preceded in death by his parents, Edward and Pearl (Spurgeon) Riebesehl, wife, Virginia Riebesehl, grandson, Shane Riebesehl and great-grandson, Colton Sipple. He is also preceded in death by his 15 siblings.
A graveside service with military honors for Melvin will take place at a later date at Glenwood Cemetery, Napoleon. The family is under the care of Walker-Hoening Mortuary of Napoleon. Memorials in Melvin's memory may be made to the American Cancer Society or the Dementia Society of America.
