Rose M. Huff, 90, of Fostoria, passed away at 5:55 p.m. on Tuesday September 10, 2019 at Independence House, Fostoria.

She was born on October 14, 1928 in Tiffin to the late Henry and Amelia (Klingshirn) Straub. She married Albert F. Huff on April 8, 1948 in Tiffin and he preceded her in death on January 19, 2008.

Surviving are two children, Albert (Cheryl) Huff II, Risingsun and Mary Caudill, Fostoria; six grandchildren, Leasa (Phillip) Walter, Risingsun, Albert P. (Jennifer) Huff, Risingsun, Melissa (John) Chapman, Republic, Larry (Sherry) Caudill, Fostoria, Brian (Tabitha) Caudill, Napoleon and Angela (Dave) Ogg, Findlay; 25 great-grandchildren; several great-great grandchildren; sister, Bernice Payne, Upper Sandusky; brother, Lloyd (Loretta) Straub, Tiffin; sister-in-law, Marcella Straub, Bloomville; brother-in-law, Sam (Carol) Huff, Florida; and several nieces and nephews. She was also preceded in death by a grandson, Joseph Huff, son-in-law, Larry Caudill, 9 brothers, Robert, Henry, Albert, Clarence, Charles, Paul, Donald, Bill and infant John Straub, 5 sisters, Florence Creeger, Helen Brandel, Marie Kizer, Dorothy Lake and infant Margaret Straub.

Rose was a homemaker and proud farmer’s wife. She was a 1947 graduate of Tiffin Calvert High School, member of the Fostoria Eagles Club 430, Fostoria VFW Post 421, and the Fostoria AmVets Post 69. She enjoyed gardening, travelling, playing cards, games and jigsaw puzzles. Rose loved her family, especially her grandchildren.

Visitation will be on Monday September 16, 2019 from 10 a.m. – 1p.m. at HOENING FUNERAL HOME 242 W. Tiffin St., Fostoria, Ohio 44830. The funeral service will be at 1 p.m. at the funeral home with Rev. William Bentley, presiding. Burial will follow in Scott-Trinity Cemetery near Risingsun.

In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions are suggested to the Fostoria United Veterans or to a charity of the donor’s choice.
