Obituary for Thomas J. Kramb

Thomas J. Kramb, 86, of Fostoria, passed away at 6:25 pm Saturday March 2, 2019 at Good Shepherd Home, Fostoria.

Tom was born March 23, 1932 in Fostoria to the late Lewis Anthony and Anna Marie (Bauer) Kramb. He married Caroline Ann “Carrie” George on June 2, 1956 at St. Mary’s Catholic Church, Tiffin and she survives in Fostoria.

Also surviving are three children, Cheryl Ann Kramb, Columbus, David Allen (Trish) Kramb, Findlay and Charles Howard (Amy) Kramb, Hilliard; four grandchildren, Jessica (Wes) Sharp, Michael (Alan Schmidt) Kramb, Christopher Kramb and Jacob Kramb; two great-grandchildren, Raegen and Asher Sharp; a brother, Walter (Virginia) Kramb, Fostoria; sister, Helen Cochie, Fostoria; “adopted” children, Kevin (Debbie) Daly, of Powell. He was also preceded in death by a daughter, Mary Sue Kramb; four brothers, William, Robert, Edwin “Jack” and Carl Kramb; and three sisters, Sister Mary Loisann S.N.D. (Viola), Mary Reinhard and Rita Fox.

Tom retired as Supervisor and was an Assistant Administrator of Health, Safety and Environmental Affairs at National Carbon Co., Union Carbide, and National Electrical Carbon, Fostoria after 37 years of service. He was a member of St. Wendelin Catholic Church, 1950 graduate of St. Wendelin High School and had sung in the church choir.

Tom was a US Army veteran serving in the Medical Corp during the Korean War. He had been a member of the VFW and a 3rd degree Knight of Columbus. Tom was a faith filled man, with a sense of humor, who never met a stranger. He commented that his greatest accomplishment was “raising a loving family.”

Visitation is Wednesday March 6, 2019 from 4-7 pm at HOENING & SON FUNERAL HOME 133 W. Tiffin St., Fostoria, OH 44830.

Funeral Mass is 10:30 am Thursday at St. Wendelin Catholic Church with Rev. Todd Dominique presiding. A Rosary will be prayed 10 am at the church. Burial will follow with military honors by the Fostoria United Veterans at St. Wendelin Catholic Cemetery. A lunch and gathering will follow at the funeral home and all are invited to share a favorite covered dish or dessert.

Memorials are suggested to the Myositis Society, Autism Speaks or St. Wendelin Church c/o the funeral home.
