Obituary for MS1 Harold E. Drenning, USN X1 Retired

MS1 Harold E. Drenning, USNX1 Retired, passed away 3:40 am Wednesday, November 15, 2017 at Good Shepherd Home, in Fostoria.

Harold proudly and honorably served his country for 30 years in the U.S. Navy, with 10 years Civil Service at Pensacola Naval Hospital and 20 years, 6 months, and 14 days Active Service, Navy.

He was a Dale Earnhart Jr. fan and a fan of the Crimson Tide. He was a hunter, fisherman, friend to all, and loved by many.

Harold was born on November 27, 1944 to Dallas A. Drenning Sr. and Mary Lou (Yoder) Drenning.  He is survived by brothers, David C. and Dennis Drenning; daughters, Kandi Drenning and Rhonda Butler; step-son, Michael Oglesby; niece, Jennifer Lynn Gregg, who brought him to Ohio from Pensacola; two nephews, both having military backgrounds, and with whom he had a special relationship, Brad and Ryan Drenning; and his neighbors & best military friends, Don and Marie Logsdon, Harold and Charlotte Tindal, and Lynn Randall.

He was preceded in death by his parents, wife, Brenda Drenning, and two brothers Dallas A.  Drenning Jr and Dale Leroy Drenning.

Military honors will be provided at a later date.  Harold will be laid to rest in Barrancas National Cemetery, Pensacola, Fla.
