Obituary for David D. Thallman

David D. Thallman, 75, of Fostoria, passed away on Monday, March 5, 2018 at Pro Medica Fostoria Community Hospital, in Fostoria.
He was born on February 20, 1943 in Seneca County to the late Willard J. and Cornelia (Rogers) Thallman. He married Diane K. Schubert on August 10, 1969 and she preceded him in death on October 6, 2012.
He is survived by his twin brother, Don (Janet) Thallman, of Fostoria, brother, Kenny (Carolyn) Thallman, of Tiffin; brother-in-law, Randy Schubert, of Columbus; nephews, Cory (fiance’ Brooke Sowers) Schubert, Tony (Angie) Thallman, Rev. Kirt (MeiLan) Thallman and Kent (Roxanne) Thallman; nieces, Kimberly (David) Clouse, Angela (Dave) Rohlen, and Kyleigh (fiance’ Jeremy Browning) Schubert; great nephews, Grayson Thallman, Drew & Lance Rohlen, Ryan Clouse, Nathan Thallman, Caydon Sparks, and Callen Schubert; and great-nieces, Naomi, Olivia, Emily, and Paige Thallman, and Audrey Schubert. He was also preceded in death by a brother, Gerald Thallman.
David was a U. S. Army Vietnam Veteran, for which we are forever grateful nation.
Dave was a 1962 Hopewell Loudon High School Graduate. He was a member of High Street United Methodist Church in Fostoria, where he was active with its youth group, driving the ‘ole bus and traveling with them. He also helped at church with Bible School, and made 100+ necklaces for the Emmaus Walk.
Dave worked for Archer Daniels Midland, in his spare time finding enjoyment riding his motorcycle, camping with his nieces & nephews, and in his younger years he enjoyed hunting and traveling. Dave was very craft-minded. He loved to tinker with things, disassembling and putting them back together. He also loved his cats.
Visitation will be held from 4-8 pm on Thursday, March 8, 2018 at MANN-HARE-HOENING FUNERAL HOME, 407 N. Countyline St, Fostoria. Funeral Services will begin 10:30 am on Friday at High Street United Methodist Church, 243 W. High Street, Fostoria, with an hour of visitation prior at the church, Pastor Jim Sharrett, and nephew Rev. Kirt Thallman, officiating.
Burial will follow at Seneca Memory Gardens, Tiffin, where the Fostoria United Veterans will perform military honors.
