Obituary for James E. Good

James E. Good, 74, of Napoleon, Ohio, passed away unexpectedly on Tuesday, April 10, 2018. He was born on January 2. 1944 to Kenneth and Jennie (Foreman) Good of Van Wert, Ohio. He proudly served his country in the US Army during the Vietnam War. He enlisted in 1962 and was honorably discharged in November of 1968. During his service he earned the Order of the Silver Rose due to his exposure to Agent Orange. On April 12, 1969 he married the love of his life, Barbara Kaiser, who preceded him in death on August 29, 2015. James worked and retired as a manager for the Division of Liquor Control.
James was a member of the Vietnam Veterans Association of Defiance, Ohio. He enjoyed going to car shows and collecting miniature hobby cars. He was a strong supporter of mental health care for veterans. He dedicated a lot of his time advocating for veterans on social media. He wanted to ensure that "no veteran was left behind." The one thing James loved the most was his family and he will be dearly missed by all who knew him.
James is survived by his daughter, Jennifer (William) Lowinski and granddaughter, Autumn Lowinski. He is also survived by three other grandchildren and his close cousins, Karl and Glen Smith.
He is preceded in death by his loving parents, Kenneth and Jennie Good; Step-father, Robert King; beloved wife, Barbara Good; dear son, Jami Good and half-sister, Connie Mercier.
It was James' wish to be cremated. There will be no services. The family is under the care of Snyder-Wesche-Hoening Funeral Home of Napoleon.
